If you're going to be studying the Scriptures for the rest of your life, you should learn how to understand an exegetical outline (and learn how to construct them). The Dick and Jane Story on Youtube (10minuteBible.com) gives you a ten minute introduction. There really isn't any other way to resolve two different interpretations of a passage. If not, start going through the Introduction to the 7PASSAGES and learn "How To Study the Bible Like Sherlock 'Olmes" (in the sidebar). It will take some effort, but what else in life that's really valuable requires no effort (beside justification by faith, which required a lot of Christ's effort)?
